What’s on the Brushes page?

Our easy-to-use brushes that help you blend, shade, and buff like a pro.

What makeup brushes are used for what products?

What each makeup brush is used for usually falls within one of several categories, but the most common makeup brushes are a foundation brush, eye shadow brush, eyeliner brush, powder brush, and blush brush. Your makeup routine will determine what sort of brushes you’ll need for a flawless application.

How can I clean my makeup brushes?

It's essential to clean your makeup brushes regularly. How often to clean makeup brushes depends on how often you use them: the more you use them, the more cleaning they will require.

How do I apply foundation with a brush?

Using your preferred makeup foundation brush, start applying foundation where you feel you need the most coverage. For many people, that would be the center of the face, right around the nose. From your starting point, apply your foundation shade using short, even strokes and blend outward to reach the entire face. With foundation, a little goes a long way, so start with a small amount and use more as needed. Applying too much can make foundation cakey and more difficult to blend.

What are makeup brushes made of?

Professional makeup brushes come in many varieties, all made of synthetic bristles. While our Pro Artists use various tools and have different application techniques, many of them use our top-rated, bestselling brushes for foundation, brow, and powder to create several seamless makeup looks.

How many makeup brushes do I need?

It’s important to know how many brushes to use for your makeup routine. If you know your everyday routine calls for specific brushes, then having those should be enough. If you aren’t sure what you need or you want to have some versatility, it’s a good idea to have at least these various types of makeup brushes on hand: a foundation brush like our Full Coverage Face Brush, a cheek brush like our Blush Brush, a powder brush like our Face Blender Brush, and an eye shadow blending brush like our Eye Shadow Brush. With these professional makeup brushes, you can achieve a number of effortless makeup styles.

How do I blend makeup with a brush?

How to blend makeup, including your blending options and tools, depends on what type of makeup you're blending and how much time you have before your makeup sets. For example, to blend out blush, use our Blush Brush and apply it to the apples of the cheeks, and then blend outward and downward. This brush and more help you blend out all the makeup you use in your entire routine.
